The great laptop identity parade.

I received a call from a client who had just purchased five brand-new laptops. They said that the Wi-Fi was bad in their office.
Of course, it was the company's CEO who had the problem.
I tested the Wi-Fi first - all good.
I asked if anyone else in the office had poor Wi-Fi performance, and they all said no.
I said to the CEO, it must be your laptop, let me take a look at it.
Ah! said the CEO, all these laptops are identical, all bought at the same time, same make and model, so it can't be my laptop 😏 Our IT person has also checked that all the drivers are up to date.
One drum roll later
I quickly checked and I found that the CEO's laptop had a completely different Wi-Fi chipset from all the others. I knew some of the settings for this chipset caused issues, so the problem was fixed in 2 minutes.
Not all laptops are equal, or the same, they may look the same but be different - you get my drift.
